The reviews are in, and they all agree, “Would Like to Meet” in the Alhambra was a great success!
Thanks to all of our friends, patrons, advertisers and sponsors who came along to support us over the two nights on the Alhambra stage, as always it is greatly appreciated. Also a big thank you to the office staff and technical crew at the Alhambra for making us most welcome, and for assisting in making the production the success it was.
The society now takes a break until rehearsals begin again for our Autumn season at the end of August. Watch this space for details.

Dunfermline Dramatic Society is happy to announce we will be performing “Would Like to Meet”, a brand new farce written by Bruce Adam, in the Alhambra Theatre on 26th & 27th May 2010.
We will be using the massive Alhambra stage as a black box studio, housing both the audience and the acting area on it.
This will be the first amateur drama production in the Alhambra since it’s renovation and revival last year.

Well, after a hectic rehearsal period and an even more hectic 2 days in the Annexe, Bedroom Farce is now finished.
Despite some horrible weather over the weekend, we played to around 90 people over the 2 nights, which is our highest attendance in recent years. We had a great time working on this play and hope that those of you who came along enjoyed it as much as we did.
As ever, we’d like to say a big thank you to our audience members, Patrons, Advertisers and especially our Sponsors (East Port Garage & W D Factors) for your continued support of live theatre in Dunfermline. We could not do what we do without you. Thank you.
We now take a well deserved month off, and will be back in rehearsals for our Spring production from the 1st week in January.
Dunfermline Dramatic Society would like to wish all of our supporters a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year for the festive season ahead, and we look forward to entertaining you again in the Spring.

Members of DDS were asked to perform a short piece at a recent Jules Verne event thrown by the local Archive Society, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the passage of Jules Verne and Aristide Hignard through Oakley in 1859.
The piece was a short re-enactment of Jules Verne & his companion Hignard’s arrival at Inzievar House.
An article covering the celebrations and DDS’s contribution (with pictures) has been published in Volume 2 of the Verniana (a multilingual online open access journal dedicated to Jules Verne studies) which you can see here:
